Pfäffikon SZ, 4 April 2012 – The shareholders of Charles Vögele Holding AG approved the 2011 annual report at the shareholders‘ meeting today and agreed to all the motions put forward by the Board of Directors.

Pfäffikon SZ, 15 March 2012 – The Board of Directors of Charles Vögele Holding AG is proposing that shareholders approve extensive changes to the composition of the Board. Only Hans Ziegler, who has served as Chairman since September 2011, is putting himself forward for re-election on 4 April. The other members, Alain Caparros, Professor Peter Littmann and Jan C. Berger will not be standing for re-election at the 2012 Annual Shareholders’ Meeting.

In the 2011 financial year Charles Vögele Group recorded a 15% decline in net sales to CHF 1 016 million. After a balanced first half year, net sales after currency adjustments fell well below the year-back figure in the second half. In addition to the challenging market environment and the unfavourable currency situation, internal difficulties with the structure of the range and supply logistics also caused problems. Improvements on the cost side could not make up in full for the reduction in gross profit. The end-year result was a consolidated loss of CHF -119 million (previous year: consolidated profit of CHF +18 million), which included a goodwill impairment of CHF 36 million in the first half year. Although the 2011 annual results mark a setback for Charles Vögele Group, the foundations are in place for a positive company performance in future thanks to the immediate introduction of corrective measures. Financing has been secured with a CHF 255 million syndicated credit facility up to mid-2015.

Pfäffikon SZ, 22 February 2012 – Penélope and Mónica Cruz have worked as Charles Vögele’s brand ambassadors since April 2010. The two sisters designed their own collections for Charles Vögele under the Biaggini Violett label. Now Charles Vögele and Penélope and Mónica are going their separate ways. Their final collection will be available in selected stores in May. CEO Frank Beeck explains: “Penélope and Mónica Cruz have got people talking about the Charles Vögele brand again. The collections have been successful but we now have to concentrate all of our resources on the implementation of the new brand strategy.”

Pfäffikon SZ, 20 February 2012 – The group management of the Charles Vögele Group has appointed Karin Busnel-Knappertsbusch (47) as Vice President Women’s Wear. She is taking over from Mike Mählmann and will report directly to CEO Frank Beeck. She started in her new position on 1 February 2012.
